Each year, LNC presents the L. Richardson Preyer Alumni Award to an LNC alum who has made a significant improvement in the quality of life, economic well-being, and sense of community in our state. This award was created in honor of the late Greensboro congressman who was instrumental in the early days of Leadership North Carolina.

During the LNC Class XXIII Graduation and Awards Ceremony at the North Carolina State Capitol on May 13, the L. Richardson Preyer Alumni Award was presented to Teri Lemons of LNC Class XI. During the presentation, Phillip Morgan, a member of the LNC Board of Directors from LNC Class XX and of the LNC Awards Committee shared the following about Teri Lemons.

“Teri has been an active alumna of Leadership North Carolina, helping create the framework for the endowment campaign and laying the groundwork for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and The Duke Energy Foundation gifts. The Class Ambassador program was her brainchild and she assisted LNC staff with getting the program off the ground and incorporating it into the Alumni Campaign.  Teri has been passionate about engaging the Class Ambassadors and through Teri’s efforts, LNC will be convening a retreat for the Class Ambassadors in conjunction with the Orientation Session this October in Boone.”

Congratulations to Teri on her service to LNC and for being selected as the 2016 recipient of the L. Richardson Preyer Alumni Award. For a roster of past recipients and to make a nomination for the 2017 L. Richardson Preyer Alumni Award, click HERE.
