Duke Energy Foundation Awards LNC $50k Grant

Leadership North Carolina (LNC), the state’s premier leadership engagement program, has been awarded a $50,000 grant from The Duke Energy Foundation in support of LNC’s economic development programming.  Each year LNC holds a two-day session focused on economic development issues as part of its six-session program for leaders across the state.  In recognition of this grant, the session for Class XXIII (2015-2016) will be named the “Duke Energy Economic Development Session”  and Duke Energy will be listed as a Carolina Sponsor of the LNC program.  The Duke Energy Economic Development Session is scheduled for March 1-3, 2016, in Wilmington, NC.

“We are grateful for this grant and for the longtime partnership we have with Duke Energy,” stated Brian Etheridge, president of Leadership North Carolina.  “Duke Energy has worked alongside us since Leadership North Carolina’s inception. For LNC to achieve its mission, we need human and financial resources.  Duke Energy has been a steadfast partner of LNC providing the human and financial resources needed to achieve our mission.  Leaders at Duke Energy have invested in LNC by participating in the program, serving as presenters and area experts during sessions, providing leadership as members of our Board of Directors, and finding value in our work as sponsors since our early days. ”
