Global Engagement Luncheon and Siemens Energy Tour
Here’s your opportunity to see how CPCC’s Center for Global Engagement, Siemens Energy, LNC Global, and you all come together.
Please join us Thursday, September 15, in Charlotte for a luncheon at the Harris Conference Center on the campus of Central Piedmont Community College followed by a tour of the state-of-the-art Siemens Energy Gas Turbines plant. CPCC’s President, Dr. Tony Zeiss (LNC Class I), will join us for lunch to provide an overview of CPCC’s Center for Global Engagement and the workforce development partnership between Siemens and CPCC.
Following lunch, LNC alumni will access an exclusive tour of the Siemens Charlotte Energy Hub to see the CPCC/Siemens workforce development partnership in action. The tour will offer a look at all three of the product lines the site manufactures and services: Steam Turbines, Gas Turbines, and Generators. This large-scale power equipment is shipped all over the world to generate power.
The luncheon will also be a great opportunity to get more information on the LNC Global trip to Germany in September 2017. The trip will focus on German firms with a presence in North Carolina, and participants will learn about economic development, education, environment, health and human services, and government sector practices in Germany and how they relate to North Carolina. Siemens is one of the companies we plan to highlight during the trip.
Attendees must wear flat, hard-soled, closed toe shoes (no high heels, sandals, or running/deck shoes), and only able-bodied attendees are allowed on the tour (Siemens can not accommodate those on crutches or with other concerns that would hinder movement in the event of an evacuation).
