Regional Industry Manager, Southeast NC Region
Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina

“At the very first Leadership North Carolina session, I realized that I was in a room with more than 50 other people who were as passionate and committed to North Carolina as I was. The benefits of learning the history of North Carolina and the current and future direction of North Carolina from the education, economic, health, environmental and governmental perspectives were priceless, and they still guide my decision-making today.

The passion behind the work that Leadership North Carolina alumni do across the state brings to light the challenges in both urban and rural regions, while also realizing the state’s assets and resources. It provides a continual platform for collaborative leadership, discussions and solutions that put North Carolina at the forefront of a global economy.

The interaction and open discussions with my classmates throughout the year helped build strong friendships and professional relationships that continue to show value across the state. In fact, while in my last position at the university, I was contacted by the husband of a fellow classmate about a position in state government. It was an unplanned but wonderful move for me, professionally. Some people use recruiting firms for career growth opportunities, but those who are fortunate can consistently look to Leadership North Carolina alumni.”
