LNC Class XX Graduation
On May 17th the members of LNC Class XX gathered in the Old House Chamber of the North Carolina State Capitol for their graduation ceremony and reception. The 50 members of Class XX were joined by friends, family, colleagues, and LNC alumni and board members as each was presented with a framed LNC certificate.
Cynthia Marshall, formerly president of AT&T North Carolina and now with AT&T’s corporate office in Dallas, Texas, received the LNC Governor’s Award in honor of her leadership and her significant contributions to improving the quality of life, economic well-being, and sense of community in North Carolina. Governor Pat McCrory presented the award to Ms. Marshall and shared his congratulations with all the members of Class XX.
Gale Adcock, chief health officer at SAS Institute, was chosen by her classmates to receive the Stanley Frank Class Award in honor of her enthusiastic engagement in her professional and civic activities and in all aspects of the LNC program. During the ceremony the LNC board also thanked Kenston Griffin, owner and chief executive officer of Dream Builders Communication, Inc., for his service as Class XX program chair and welcomed Jenni Harris, assistant to the chancellor for community partnerships at UNC Wilmington, as program chair for Class XXI.
The members of the Class XX William Garrett Scholarship Fund Committee announced their class gift of $21,530 to support LNC’s scholarship fund. Following the ceremony class members and guests gathered for a reception in the Capitol rotunda.
