History

November 16, 1990 – Articles of Incorporation filed creating Leadership North Carolina.

January 19, 1995 – Journey begins for 47 members of LNC Class I.

May 16, 2016 – Graduation of LNC Class XXIII, reaching milestone of more than 1,000 alumni.

January 19, 2020 – Leadership North Carolina kicks-off 25th Anniversary.

Core Values

The driving force behind Leadership North Carolina’s core values and culture lies in the North Carolina state motto: Esse Quam Videri. “To Be Rather Than To Seem”

Practice Inclusivity: Strengthen North Carolina through a variety of voices to promote civil discourse and systemic change.

Promote Lifelong Learning: Inform, engage, and mobilize leaders through service learning, support and social responsibility.

Provide Historical Context: Examine and understand North Carolina’s roots, history, and traditions.
