Since 1995, Leadership North Carolina has provided cutting-edge programming to current and emerging leaders from across the state. Every summer LNC selects a class of engaged citizens to learn about issues related to government, economic development, health and human services, education, and the environment. LNC takes a comprehensive, integrated approach that showcases how its focus areas are deeply intertwined.

Six two-day sessions are held from October to May in a variety of locations that highlight the geographic, economic, and cultural diversity of the state. Sessions combine presentations, tours, experiential learning activities, and facilitated dialogue. Program participants explore solutions to real challenges and identify where they can best have an impact.

The application period for LNC Class 31 (2023-2024) will be open June 1 – June 22, 2023.  A link will be posted here when the application is live.

Our Format

2-1

Each class of leaders attends six two-day sessions during the LNC program year. Sessions combine presentations, tours, experiential learning activities, and facilitated dialogue to educate participants about challenges and opportunities facing the state.

The LNC program supports the exploration of multiple perspectives in a safe and respectful environment. LNC class members build their personal and professional networks as they work to turn knowledge into action and leverage resources for the benefit of the state and its people.
