Action Teams

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”  ― Margaret Mead

Leadership North Carolina alumni have a common bond built on connections, trust, and purpose.  As a way to continue this bond and enhance ways our alumni can brainstorm and act, action teams bring unity to bridge alumni together to move North Carolina forward, together.

Who:  All 28 classes of alumni have the opportunity to connect to brainstorm ways they can take action in North Carolina – personally and/or together.

When:  Four times a year, the teams huddle virtually to connect with each other and LNC.

What:  These teams spend intentional time together to brainstorm ways to impact our local communities and state as a whole.

How:  LNC facilitates the team discussions to foster connections as each team defines their action – some teams may take action together or as individuals – all while brainstorming together and holding each other accountable to see their ideas come to life.

How can you use your gifts and skills to move North Carolina forward? What are other folks in North Carolina doing to inspire their communities and take bold action?  These teams will brainstorm how leaders can come together to continue to impact our great state.  After all, we are better together!

The 2022 Action Teams are underway and signups for 2023 will open this summer.

Connections and Coffee

For the past several years, one of our Government Session speakers, John Davis of the John Davis Political Report, has challenged us to “have three cups of coffee with someone who thinks differently than you.”  With his inspiration, and following the success of last year’s launch, we are hosting our second year of “connections and coffee” – an opportunity to connect our alumni so “three cups of coffee” can take place all year long, all over the state.

Here is how it will work:  We will connect you with another alum – one from a different LNC class than you – as you share perspectives and foster personal and professional growth through solution focused discussions (virtually and in-person as the opportunity presents itself).  We believe that long lasting relationships will be forged and we hope that by making these connections, you will have the opportunity to hear how someone else is making an impact on NC.  Together, you will brainstorm on how you can continue to impact our great state.  After all, we believe we are better together!

The 2022 connections are underway and signups for 2023 will open this summer.

Semi-Annual Class Connection Calls

We know the bond that each LNC class shares and heard your suggestion to host semi-annual class calls.  So…let’s connect!  Each winter and summer, LNC will gather each LNC class via Zoom to allow classmates to check-in with one another as we continue to engage and lead alongside our fellow classmates and communities.
