“This simulation was SO helpful. Prior to the simulation, I did not understand all the issues and factors [[related to climate solutions]]. This simulation did an excellent job explaining the various levers we can use to contribute to a better environment.”

Leadership North Carolina is grateful to Climate Interactive for presenting the En-ROADS Climate Workshop as a Dogwood Sponsor of LNC’s virtual Environment session last month.
Through engaging facilitation and effective use of this innovative tool, Andrew Jones, co-founder and co-director of Climate Interactive, led two cohorts of LNC participants through a thought-provoking online simulation. These diverse groups of leaders from across North Carolina, representing the business, education, government, and nonprofit sectors, were empowered to prioritize potential climate solutions, evaluate their collective effectiveness, and work collaboratively to achieve target goals.
Participants came to understand the impacts and trade-offs of a variety of options, including increasing energy efficiency, carbon pricing, fossil fuel taxes, reducing deforestation, and carbon dioxide removal. They were left with a sense of the scale and complexity of the systems at play and also inspired to be part of the solution.

“This was one of my favorite presentations from this session because Drew’s excitement and energy around the topic of climate change was palpable. I learned so much during the activity/simulation, and it added to my desire to take more serious actions to positively impact climate change.”
